Jewish Youth and Young Adults Inclusion Video Contest
Contest Rules

Participants must meet the following criteria to register:

Be between 13 and 18 years old by February 15, 2021 for the Junior Division.

Be between 19 and 25 years old by February 15, 2021 for the Senior Division.

Be a current Calgary resident or whose primary residence is in Calgary.

All entries must be in digital video format.

Each entry must focus on at least two of the following inclusion and accessibility ideas:

What does the full inclusion of individuals with disabilities mean to you as a Jewish young adult?
-
What can we do to improve the inclusion of children and adults with disabilities in Jewish Calgary?
-
Why is inclusion a Jewish right and not a mitzvah?
-
What is inclusive language? Universal design? How to make it stronger in our Jewish Calgary?
- Entrants may work together in groups or submit entries as individuals.
- The length of the video should be a minimum of 60 seconds (one minute) and a maximum of three minutes in total.
- Do NOT include your name, participants or actors' names anywhere in the video.
- All information presented in the video must be cited, giving credit to the original source.
- There is no entry fee.
- All entries must be submitted by Monday, February 15, 2021 at 9:00pm MST to: inclusion@jewishcalgary.org via the We Transfer or Google Drive platforms.
- Winners will be announced no later than Sunday, February 21, 2021, and contacted via email.
- No copyrighted materials (music, images, etc.) may be used for this contest.
- Royalty Free music can be used.
- Entrants must submit a completed and signed Registration Form and a completed and signed Actor Release Form for each person appearing in your video. Forms can be scanned and submitted by email.
- Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
- Inclusion mindset (inclusive language, engagement, inclusion in action).
- Ideas presented to increase awareness and promote inclusion accessibility.
- Jewish content and inclusion.
- Creativity.
- Presentation.
- Awards (generously donated by The Lenny and Faigel Shapiro and Family Creative Awards) will be presented as follows:
- Junior Division Awards (13 to 18 years old, as of February 15, 2021)
- 1st Place: $600
- 2nd Place: $300
- 3rd Place: $100
- Special Mention 1: $50
- Special Mention 2: $50
- Senior Division Awards (19 to 25 years old, as of February 15, 2021)
- 1st Place: $600
- 2nd Place: $300
- 3rd Place: $100
- Special Mention 1: $50
- Special Mention 2: $50
- Entrants grant Calgary Jewish Federation the right to use their names, photographs, statements, quotes, testimonials, and video submissions for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes without notification or further compensation.
- Entrants also grant Calgary Jewish Federation the right to use, reproduce, reprint, distribute, perform, and/or display the entrant’s project video.
